AirTran Inaugural Flight to Baltimore will Depart JAX this Week
Baltimore bound passengers now have more options
JACKSONVILLE, May 4, 2010 - The Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) and AirTran Airways will celebrate tomorrow, Tuesday, May 4, the airline's inaugural flight from Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) to Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) in Baltimore. The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart JAX at 4:00 p.m.
AirTran Airways will add two additional daily flights per day from JAX to BWI with business class service. Southwest Airlines currently offers three daily flights to Baltimore.
"These added flights will provide Baltimore bound passengers with more options, especially business travelers," said Barbara Halverstadt, JAA's Manager of Development & Marketing. "We're thrilled to add these flights to our schedule, and we're hopeful JAX will begin to welcome more business travelers and tourists from the Baltimore area."
The AirTran ticket counter and gate area will be decorated with flowers and balloons, and passengers will also be welcomed with cake and punch.
