Delta Announces New Daily Nonstop Service from Jacksonville to Miami
Jacksonville Aviation Authority today announced that Delta Airlines will begin daily nonstop service between Jacksonville and Miami, Florida, beginning in March 2011. The airline plans to operate four departures and arrivals each day between Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and Miami International Airport in Miami, Florida.
The Delta flights will bring additional service between the two Florida cities. American Airlines also provides daily service to Miami. Beginning March 26, 2010, passengers traveling between Miami and JAX can choose from eight daily flights from Monday through Friday, and nine daily flights on Saturday and Sunday.
"We're excited about the additional service Delta is providing their customers," said Barbara Halverstadt, JAA's Manager of Marketing and Development. "It's a positive indication that demand for travel to and from Miami is increasing and Delta has great confidence that Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia will sustain that growth."
