"easyJet's GLASGOW service goes year round"

easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, has extended its Jersey to Glasgow route throughout the Winter season.

The 90 minute direct service to Glasgow has proven to be a popular route with leisure travellers, since its launch in June 2011.

The summer service began operating three times a week – Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays – from March 3 and is scheduled to run until October 29 this year.

However increased demand has led easyJet to introduce a winter service from October 30.

The twice-weekly service will fly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with fares starting from £11.99 (one way including taxes).

Ali Gayward, easyJet UK commercial manager, said the extension into the winter season will offer an additional 10,000 seats between Jersey and Glasgow.

She added: “Glasgow has proven to be a popular route for us from Jersey, offering holiday-makers the option of an action-packed weekend break or a leisurely scenic holiday.

“As part of our continued strategy to enhance choice for our growing customer base, we have identified an opportunity to extend the service throughout the winter season.

“We now fly to three destinations from Jersey Airport and we believe the extension of the service further strengthens our commitment to the Island, as well as our objective of making air travel easy and affordable for our growing customer base.”
