A series of testing of new Terminal D has begun at Boryspil International Airport. The program organized by specialists from the ORAT team (Munich Airport) comprises carrying out a series of tests to ensure a coordinated start of operational activities in the new terminal.
The first basic test was conducted on 18 January, 2012. It was carried out with the involvement of representatives of all control services and 50 volunteers who imitated the processes of checking in, passing security control and passport control.
By holding of the European Football Championship 2012 finals in Ukraine, about 15 similar training sessions are due to be held where all the processes and equipment of the largest terminal in Ukraine will be tested. Communication of volunteers with airport staff at their working places is conducted only in English.
Soft opening of new Terminal D is scheduled for March 25, 2012. Currently, three terminals are functioning at the airport - B, C, F.
