Summing up December 2017
The final month of 2017 at Katowice Airport closed with a 20.6% increase in volume, overall. The airport handled 225 344 passengers, 38 573 more in comparison to December 2016. December last year was the eleventh month in a row of double-digit growth in passenger traffic. In addition, December 2017, for the first time in its history, saw Katowice Airport handle over 200 000 travellers, overall.
Summing up 2017
For Katowice Airport, 2017 finished with the airport achieving its best-ever result in terms of passenger numbers in all travel sectors - overall, regularly-scheduled and charter traffic. The number of take-offs and landings was also record-breaking.
In the past year, 3 892 941 passengers used Katowice Airport's network in both regular and charter services. This is 671 680 more (+20.85%) in comparison to 2016. This was the largest increase in passenger volume in terms of a single year, in Katowice Airport's history.
In terms of regularly-scheduled series, 2 423 869 passengers used Katowice Airport, which is 297 329 more (+14%) in comparison to 2016. Significant growth was recorded in the charter sector with 1 459 398 travellers using Katowice Airport. This is an increase of 380 239 passengers (+35%) in comparison to 2016.
In the past year, there were 34 725 take-offs and landings at Katowice Airport - 3 731 more (+12%) in comparison to the previous year.
