New direct route between Oslo and Berlin
Starting this spring, the German airline Air Berlin will commence direct flights to Norway for the first time.
Starting on 24 April 2009, Germany's second largest airline will operate a connection between Oslo and Berlin-Tegel from Monday to Friday. Flights from Oslo depart for Berlin at 12.55 p.m. and arrive at 2.30 p.m. Departures from Berlin-Tegel leave at 10.35 a.m. and will arrive in Oslo at 12.10 p.m.
"We are looking forward to completing our Scandinavian route network with Oslo and to offer Air Berlin's award-winning service to the Norwegian market," says Mats Jacobsson, Area Manager Nordic. "Air Berlin is the only airline that provides a direct connection between Oslo and Berlin's City Airport Tegel."
"I am satisfied that Oslo Airport has reached an agreement with Air Berlin," says Managing Director Nic Nilsen. "This is a company with a wide-ranging service which I am sure will be beneficial to both business travellers and tourists."
Via the Berlin-Tegel hub, Air Berlin additionally provides several connections to other destinations in its German and European route network. By flying with Air Berlin from Oslo one can also connect to major cities such as Frankfurt, Cologne, Munich, Vienna or Moscow.
Air Berlin's services can be booked online (airberlin.com), at travel agents or by calling Air Berlin's Service Centre (Tel. 815 443 20 at NOK 0.31/min). Tickets start at EUR 29 for one-way flights including taxes, fees and flying miles in the Top Bonus programme. Drinks and snacks on board and a 20 kg luggage allowance are also included in the price of the ticket. A Norwegian website will open shortly.
