Cold month of May
“It's nice to note good growth in the number of international passengers. The poor weather in Norway in May broke records, so it’s likely that many chose to travel to warmer climates,” says Jasper Spruit, Oslo Airport’s newly appointed traffic director.
“The weaker Norwegian krone has also made it more attractive for foreigners to visit Norway, a fact confirmed by visitor statistics.”
The number of flights to and from Oslo Airport declined from 21,609 in May 2014 to 20,627 in May this year, a decrease of 4.5 per cent. Combined with substantial passenger growth this produced fuller planes than before.
The three main routes from Oslo Airport are Trondheim, Bergen and Stavanger, while the largest international route is Copenhagen, followed closely by Stockholm.
