Summer traffic takes off!
With the start of the school holiday, many people are getting ready for their holiday travels. Here are some tips for those who will be travelling from Oslo Airport this summer.
Be prepared even before you arrive at Oslo Airport. By downloading our app, you can receive notifications about your departure, view the webcam at the security check and find great deals on dining and shopping. You can also pre-book parking via our website so that you can take advantage of the best parking deals at summer prices.
If you choose public transport, you have several options: The Norwegian State Railways, the Airport Express and numerous bus routes serve the airport. The Airport Express from Oslo Central Station takes approximately 20 minutes.
“Oslo Airport urges all passengers to arrive at the airport at the scheduled time and otherwise heed the information they receive from the airline they are travelling with. The airlines or travel agent will inform travellers should there be a need to arrive earlier,” says Joachim Westher Andersen, media manager at Oslo Airport.
At the airport
There are many self-service check-in machines at the airport. We recommend that everyone use these and the self-service bagdrop if possible. Any special baggage or baggage weighing more than 20 kg must be handed to the staff at the special luggage counter.

Service offerings
Once you arrive at the airport to start your holiday, Oslo Airport is designed to accommodate your needs – whether it’s eating, shopping, working or relaxing.
“If you bring an empty water bottle through security, you can fill it with cold Norwegian tap water at multiple locations. You will find two water stations immediately after the security check. In domestic departures, it is also possible to fill water near exits 15, 19B, 19E and 20. In international departures you can fill your bottles outside the women's and men's restrooms down the stairs by the Duty Free check-out counters and by gate 43,” says Andersen.
Should you need currency, DNB has two branches, one in the arrivals hall and one after the security check. In addition, you can make currency withdrawals from one of the many cash points (ATMs) located after the security check.
Should you need to store your luggage for a while, Oslo Airport offers storage for a fee at the east end of the arrivals hall. The lost and found office is located in the same place. You can contact us here should you be unfortunate enough to lose something at the airport or on the plane.
Free Wi-Fi and customer service
“Oslo Airport offers free Wi-Fi. Simply connect to the "Airport" wireless network and follow the instructions. We have also installed more than 1,000 power outlets in the terminal to enable you to recharge your devices before your trip. Many of the outlets are located in the seating areas by the gates,” says Andersen.
Please contact us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram if you have any questions. Passenger services is staffed around the clock and they can be contacted by phone at 06400 or the information desk in the arrivals hall.
