“This is great news for Europeans and Americans who want comfortable and affordable transcontinental flights,” says managing director Bjørn Kjos of Norwegian.
Starting May 2016, Norwegian will operate two flights per week between Oslo and Boston.
“We are very pleased that Norwegian is opening a new long-haul destination from Oslo Airport, and we believe Boston will be a popular destination for people all over Norway,” says traffic manager at Oslo Airport, Jasper Spruit.
The Boston route will be the thirteenth long-haul flight from Oslo Airport, and the sixth to North America. You can already fly direct from Oslo to New York, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
In November, Norwegian will also start direct flights between Oslo and Puerto Rico.
“We focus on offering destinations that are attractive to the Norwegian market, and we are confident in this new move to boost the service we offer to the American continent.”
Boston is an excellent starting point for onward domestic flights in the US, and with five flights, Norwegian can offer more flights from Boston Logan International Airport than any other non-American airline.
