A fresh approach to traffic development
Avinor Oslo Airport has restructured its traffic development team, to help operators build valuable business opportunities with minimum effort.
Improved collaboration
With an extensive expansion and redevelopment program almost complete, passengers are already enjoying new levels of service at Avinor Oslo Airport. In the same vein, Avinor also aims to transform its services to airlines. As a result, a new team focused on traffic development has been created to serve carriers at Oslo Airport. Led by Avinor Vice President Traffic Development Jasper Spruit, the new team is talented, diverse and multinational. Together, they combine local knowledge and insight into the Norwegian market, balanced by international experience. Simplicity and ease of use are the watchwords, going forward. One of the main objectives is to make the route development process as easy as possible for operators. To do this, the team will draw on its deep knowledge base and emphasize creativity in developing solutions.
Cargo Opportunities
Cargo, a valuable yet relatively untapped opportunity for operators, will be an important development area in the future. In particular, seafood is expected to generate a lot of interest, with Norway the world’s 2nd largest exporter of seafood. Already, 600 tons of seafood are airfreighted daily from Norway to North America and Asia alone. As a result, the airport has committed to building the world’s largest seafood terminal. In addition, an experienced cargo specialist is included within the new traffic development structure.
