Ambassador of France in Russia visited the Novosibirsk Airport (Tolmachevo)
April 1 at the Tolmachevo airport was held the business meeting of the general director of JSC "Airport Tolmachevo" Evgeny YANKILEVICH and the Ambassador of France in Russia Jean de GLINIASTY. The sides discussed the issues of cooperation development of the largest east of the Urals airport with French aviation business companies.
During the meeting was noted the dynamics of the route network development of the Tolmachevo Airport on international flights. In 2011 passenger growth in this segment reached 44.7%. This is facilitated by a modern airport infrastructure and attracting of new airlines. At the present time specialists of the Tolmachevo Airport are exploring the possibility of opening of direct flights between Novosibirsk and France.
The parties have also discussed a range of issues on the upcoming April 2 talks between the heads of the Novosibirsk Airport (Tolmachevo) and representatives of the airport "Nice Côte d'Azur" (France).
Cooperation between the Novosibirsk Airport and the French Republic has a long history.
In 1966 the Tolmachevo Airport the received the French governmental delegation headed by the President of France Charles de Gaulle.
In 1970 Boeing707 of AirFrance made a technical landing at Tolmachevo Airport for the first time.
In 1970-80 the Tolmachevo Airport received the famous Anglo-French supersonic aircraft "Concorde" for several times.
In 2007 the Tolmachevo Airport was attended by chief designer of the «ADPi Designers & Planners» airports Philippe BOUCHER. A year later, the design project of the passenger terminal designed to service 5.5 million passengers a year, was presented to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin during his visit to Novosibirsk under the Meeting on "The draft of the Transport Strategy of Russia up to 2030" .
In 2011, was held the first business meeting of the Tolmachevo Airport management with Ambassador of France in Russia Jean de GLINIASTY during his visit to Novosibirsk.
