The opening of a new route Novosibirsk-Sharjah
On October 23, 2012 Novosibirsk International Airport Tolmachevo and the tour operator “Pegas Touristik” celebrated the opening of a new route Novosibirsk-Sharjah by a cake-cutting ceremony. Flights to Sharjah will be operated by ORENAIR airline on Boeing 737-800 during the winter season 2013 in cooperation with “Pegas Touristik”.
More than 160 passengers of this first flight, including the group of Novosibirsk travel agencies heading to the UAE on a famtrip, joined the cake-cutting ceremony which was launched by Mr. Gregory Pomerantsev, Commercial Director of Novosibirsk International Airport and Mr. Alexader Losev, Director of “Pegas Touristik” branch in Novosibirsk.
The traditional cake cutting ceremony on the opening of a new route from Novosibirsk International Airport Tolmachevo is conducted under the airline support program developed at the airport.
The Novosibirsk Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub East of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity on domestic flights is 1 800 passengers per hour, on international flights - 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. According to business plan in 2012 The Tolmachevo Airport plans to serve 3 155 thousand passengers that is 14% higher than in 2011 and handle more than 26,000 tons of cargo and mail that is 28% more than in 2011. The airport has been nominated for World Routes Awards 2012 in the category "The Best CIS Airport 2012".
