International passenger traffic to climb by a third in January

In January, 2013 NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport handled 247,489 passengers representing an increase by +14.6% compared to the same period of the previous year. Monthly passenger traffic on international routes totalled 110,055 passengers (+32.8%), on domestic routes – 137,434 passengers (+3.2%). NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport continued the tendency of stable growth having provided 2,754 ATMs (+8.9%) for the first month of 2013.

The year-to-date (January) freight volume reached 1,648.4 tons which is a +9% gain compared to reports of the same month last year.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights – 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers. The airport has been nominated for World Routes Awards in the category “The Best Airport of CIS 2012”.
