PRAGUE AIRPORT’S RUNWAY FESTIVAL
Celebrating 80 years of Prague Airport
During the weekend of 10 and 11 June 2017, a Runway festival took place at Václav Havel Airport Prague on the occasion of celebrating the 80th anniversary since the launch of operations of the airport.
The event, opened to the general public, attracted 13 thousand visitors. Airport professions were showcased, airport tours and scenic flights offered, ground machinery presented and a rich accompanying programme organised.
An exposition of vintage aircraft became the greatest hit of the festival. A historic airplane, Lisunov Li-2, multicoloured Shorts SC7 Skyvan, Lockheed 10A Electra, Beechcraft C45 Expeditor and the legendary Aero Ae-45 aerotaxi were introduced on Runway 22. The static display was complemented by several small-size aircraft and a Czech Airlines’ ATR 72 passenger aircraft.
