The first direct flight was launched on the route Riga - Gdansk
Riga International Airport the first direct flight was launched on the route Riga - Gdansk. To celebrate this event a special cake in the form of a thermometer was made for the passengers of the first flight, because Gdansk – Poland’s biggest port city – is the birthplace of a physicist Gabriel Fahrenheit – the inventor of a temperature scale now named after him.
The carrier airBaltic will perform direct flights four times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The airline will operate the flights on a Fokker 50 aircraft and the flight duration will be approximately one hour and 20 minutes.
