First direct flght from Riga International Airport to Amman
airBaltic will operate direct flights to Amman, the capital of Jordan, twice a week - on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and from Amman to Riga – on Wednesdays and Sundays. The flights will be performed on a Boeing 737 aircraft, and the flight duration will be four hours and thirty minutes.
In honour of the first direct flight on the route Riga - Amman on 1 June 2010 a special cake was prepared for the passengers of this first flight. The cake is appropriately decorated: the foreground (in yellow), shows a calligraphic treatment of the Arabic script عمّان ('Amman) merging into architectural arches.
