First direct flght from Riga International Airport to Madrid
airBaltic will operate direct flights to the capital of Spain Madrid four times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The airline will perform flights on a Boeing 737 aircraft and the flight duration will be four hours and twenty minutes.
In honour of the first direct flight on the route Riga - Madrid on 2June 2010 a special cake was prepared for the passengers of this first flight. The cake represents the king of team sports - football. Madrid with its long-standing football traditions and many titles is recognised by millions of football fans in Europe and worldwide.
