TAP Portugal resumes flights from Berlin to Lisbon
Maiden flight launched today, despite delayed opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport.
At around 2.50 p.m. on 5th of June , the dawn of a new era began: for the first time in 12 years, a TAP Portugal Airbus departed from Berlin-Schönefeld Airport for Lisbon.
With the opening of the new route, the Portuguese airline is now flying to five destinations in Germany: Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg and Düsseldorf. The new connection not only enables German customers to get to Portugal much quicker, but also offers numerous connections via the Lisbon hub to long-haul flights from TAP Portugal to Brazil, the USA and Africa. As already widely known, the opening of the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) has been delayed by several months. However, all flights scheduled from TAP Portugal to and from Lisbon will go ahead as planned via the existing airport Berlin-Schönefeld (SXF).
