More than 29.5 million passengers at SXF and TXL
Never before have so many passengers been handled at Schönefeld and Tegel as during last year: from January to December, 29.53 million passengers took off and landed at the two Berlin airports. This represents a growth of 5.5 per cent compared to the same period the previous year. The capital thus continues to be the number three in Germany, after Frankfurt/Main and Munich.

A total of 29,531,483 passengers used Schönefeld and Tegel airports from January to December, which represents an increase of 5.5 per cent compared to the previous year.
In 2015, 8,526,268 passengers were recorded at Schönefeld, which is 16.9 per cent more than in 2014. Tegel Airport at the same time handled 21,005,215 passengers, which is 1.5 per cent more than in the previous year.
The number of flight movements all together rose last year to a total of 260,610 take-offs and landings, which represents an increase of 3.2 per cent compared to the previous year. At Schönefeld, the number of flight movements increased to 76,153. This corresponds to an increase of 8.3 per cent. At Tegel there was an increase of 1.2 per cent compared to the previous year. A total of 184,457 flight movements were recorded at Tegel from January to December.
In December, 2,306,854 passengers took off and landed at Schönefeld and Tegel airports. This represents a growth of 12.1 per cent compared to the same period the previous year. In December, 809,419 passengers were recorded at Schönefeld (+39.9 per cent) and 1,497,435 passengers at Tegel (+1.2 per cent).
The number of flight movements rose in December to a total of 20,855 take-offs and landings, which represents an increase of 12.0 per cent compared to the same period the previous year. At Schönefeld, the number of flight movements increased to 6,892 compared to the same period the previous year. This corresponds to an increase of 29.5 per cent. At Tegel there was an increase of 5.0 per cent compared to the previous year. A total of 13,963 flight movements were recorded at Tegel in December.
Airfreight at Schönefeld and Tegel airports in December amounted to 3,776 tonnes, which represents an increase of 3.2 per cent compared to the same period the previous year. Airfreight last year overall totalled 43,236 tonnes, which represents a decrease of 0.3 per cent compared to 2014.
