Passenger growth continues
In the current traffic report you will find the figures for passengers, aircraft movements and air freight for December 2018 and the period since the beginning of the year.

Passengers: In December 2018, 2,793,822 passengers took off from and landed at Schönefeld and Tegel airports. This is an increase of 29.4 per cent compared to the same month last year. In December, 938,620 passengers (-4.1 per cent) from Schönefeld, and 1,855,202 passengers from Tegel (+57.2 per cent).

Flight movements: The number of flight movements at Schönefeld and Tegel airports rose to 23,427 take-offs and landings in December 2018, an increase of 36.1 per cent compared to December 2017. At Schönefeld, the number of flight movements rose to 7,776 (+3.0 per cent). At Tegel, the number of flight movements rose to 15,651 (+61.9 per cent).

Air freight: In December 2018, 3,049 tonnes of air freight were registered at Schönefeld and Tegel airports, an increase of 5.2 per cent compared to December 2017. Air freight in Schönefeld hit 982 tonnes (+18.5 per cent). 2,067 tonnes of air freight were recorded in Tegel (-0.2 per cent).

Passengers: From January to December, 34,726,367 passengers flew from Schönefeld and Tegel. This figure constitutes an increase of 4.2 per cent over the same period last year and a new passenger record. 12,725,937 passengers took off and landed at Schönefeld (-1.1 per cent). A total of 22,000,430 passengers flew from Tegel (+7.5 per cent).

Flight movements: The number of flight movements at Schönefeld and Tegel rose to 293,247 take-offs and landings, an increase of 6.6 per cent over the same period last year. The number of flight movements at Schönefeld rose to 105,955 (+4.6 per cent). 187,292 take-offs and landings were recorded at Tegel (+7.8 per cent).

Air freight: A total of 40,205 tonnes of air freight were registered between January and December, representing a decline of 18.4 per cent compared with the same period last year. Schönefeld handled 12,273 tonnes of air freight (+32.1 per cent) and Tegel 27,931 tonnes (-30.2 per cent).
