New long-haul route for BER
Air Transat to fly to Toronto, Canada, from summer 2025
BER is getting a new long-haul connection to North America. The Canadian airline Air Transat will connect the capital region non-stop with Toronto in Canada from 20 June 2025 up to the end of the 2025 summer flight schedule. The new long-haul destination will then be on the flight schedule from BER twice a week (every Friday and Monday). Air Transat offers travellers codeshare flights with Porter Airlines to other destinations in Canada, including Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary, via Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ). The flights can be booked with immediate effect.
Aletta von Massenbach, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: “The new Toronto connection is a further step on the way to expanding BER’s long-haul services. We are delighted to have gained a new strong partner in Air Transat. The connection to Toronto improves the connectivity of the capital region and opens up new travel opportunities to North America for travellers from Berlin and Brandenburg.”
“This new route aligns with our revenue diversification strategy by targeting an important market with potential. It leverages our A321LR aircraft, enabling us to offer a high-quality inflight experience, as well as our joint venture with Porter, which connects the German capital to several major Canadian cities,” said Sebastian Ponce, Transat's Chief Revenue Officer.
