About The Airport

Astana International Airport was founded in 1931 as small-size airport for handling small aircrafts.

Nowadays, 80 years after, it’s one of the most modern airports on the Eurasian continent

In Astana airport there are two passenger terminal (domestic and international).

In 2017 a new passenger terminal (47,000 sq. m.)  for international flights was built. The new terminal adds 6 new aircraft boarding bridge with landing sleeves and 4 bus landing routes

to the Airport infrastructure, and also includes a variety of technologies and processes designed to improve the quality of service at the Airport. Also, the first modern baggage handling system in Kazakhstan has been installed in T1, which complies with the standards of the EU 2020 and can handle up to 1200 pieces of baggage per hour, 50 passport control booths,

27 check-in counters and 4 self-check-in counters. Parking stands for aicrafts:84

The new terminal has a public catering area of 1 000 square meters, retail outlets occupy 1,300 square meters. For the first time in history, the business lounge was created.

The total capacity is 8.2 million passengers per year, which is more than 2.5 times more than the previous one.
