New at Vienna Airport: Flybe Flies to London-Southend
Starting today, Wednesday, May 10, 2017, the British airline Flybe in franchise with Stobart Air is inaugurating its flight service between Vienna and London-Southend. Within the context of a press briefing, Bernd Behrend, Sales & Marketing Manager of Stobart Air and Belina Neumann, Head of Aviation Marketing & Business Development at Flughafen Wien AG, formally opened the new route.
“London is one of the most frequently visited cities around the world, and an important metropolis for tourism and business. This cosmopolitan city on the Thames was one of the first destinations to be reached from Vienna Airport. In 2016, London was the most popular city for people departing from Vienna, attracting more than 600,000 passengers. In total, Vienna is linked to five airports in London by five airlines. The new flight service offered by Flybe increases the number of weekly connections this summer by three to a total of 88 flights”, says Julian Jäger, Member of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG, who is pleased with the new flight connection.
“The London airport Southend is becoming increasingly popular due to its short distance to the city, quick baggage pickup and the train station located directly in front of the terminal. For this reason, we are pleased that this new Flybe flight service provides for an even greater selection of flights between Vienna and London, both for business travellers as well as for vacationers”, states Bernd Behrend, Sales & Marketing Manager of Stobart Air.
