Vienna Airport Welcomes easyJet Decision in Favour of Business Location Austria
Flughafen Wien AG, the operating company of Vienna Airport, welcomes the decision on the part of easyJet to coordinate its European activities in the future from a new company location in Vienna. "Above all, this is a confirm of the high quality and competitiveness of Austria as an aviation hub. The decision shows that Austria is very well positioned in the international aviation business. easyJet is one of the strongest growth drivers at Vienna Airport, and has been an important partner of the airport for many years. For this reason, we welcome the decision and consider it as recognition of our good cooperation", state Julian Jäger and Günther Ofner, the two Management Board members of Flughafen Wien AG.
easyJet serves ten destinations from Vienna
At the current time, easyJet serves ten destinations from Vienna with a total of 62 weekly frequencies. The airline offers direct flights from Vienna to the airports in Amsterdam, Berlin, Bristol, Edinburgh, Geneva, London Heathrow and London Luton as well as the airports of Lyon, Manchester and Naples. In addition to Austrian Airlines and Eurowings, easyJet is one of the growth drivers at Vienna Airport in the year 2017, and boasts passenger growth of 42.5% to about 400,000 passengers in the first half of 2017.
