WIZZ AIR BRINGS ADDITIONAL CAPACITY TO VIENNA
Wizz Air, one of Europe’s fastest growing airlines and one of the leading low-cost carriers in Austria and the brand Austrians consider as young and cool, announced today the allocation of the seventh and eighth aircraft to its Vienna base. The two additional Airbus A321 will join the fleet on 18 December 2019 and 1 July 2020, enabling the start of six new long-awaited services from Vienna to Athens, Castellón, Cologne, London-Luton, Pristina and Tirana, and the increase of frequencies of the airline’s existing Lisbon and Tel Aviv routes. The new low fare routes are already on sale on wizzair.com with fares starting as low as EUR 14.99*.
Just after two months of the previous expansion news, the airline announced further expansion, growing its fleet to eight Airbus aircraft at its Vienna base. The two new Airbus A321 aircraft represents Wizz Air’s long term investment into the Austrian aviation market and will contribute to the creation of over eighty new direct jobs with the airline in Austria while supporting the creation of new jobs in Austria’s aviation and tourism sectors totalling 3,000** in 2020. Together with these six new services Wizz Air now offers 34 routes to 26 countries from Vienna.

Together with the six new routes, and the frequency increases announced today Wizz Air will offer 4 million seats in the airline’s Austrian network in 2020, which represents a 66 % year on year growth.
