German Leisure Carrier New In Toronto

Leisure carrier introduces convenient, inexpensive links to Germany

At 21:45 hrs on Friday June 22, a Condor Boeing 767-300 took off on the first flight from Toronto, Canada (YYZ) to Frankfurt am Main, Germany (FRA). As of now, the popular leisure carrier is offering residents of the "Golden Horseshoe" twice-weekly flights to Germany, on Monday and Friday, at favourable prices and with excellent service.

Frankfurt am Main – also fondly called "Mainhattan" for its skyline – is the financial capital of Europe. However, it also has plenty to offer in the way of culture. The Kaiserdom cathedral and Paulskirche in the “Old Town” are well worth a visit – as is the delightful town square, which is bordered by the timber-framed buildings that are typical of the region. From Frankfurt, passengers can also fly on to Munich, home of the world-famous Oktoberfest, the fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein and the historically significant capital, Berlin. There are also several flights a day from Frankfurt to the palaces and coffee-house culture of the Austrian capital, Vienna. Onward connections can also be booked to other European metropolises such as Venice, Prague and Paris.

"Condor is growing continuously and expanding its route network, and two more Boeing 767 longhaul aircraft are to be added to our fleet over the year. Condor has already been able to establish itself in Western Canada as a popular airline with affordable prices, and after adding Calgary last year, we decided to make Toronto a new destination in Canada as well," explains Condor CEO Ralf Teckentrup.

An official ceremony was held in Toronto to mark Condor’s first flight. "We are pleased to welcome Condor to Toronto Pearson, bringing with it additional choice in service for our guests flying to Frankfurt.  This new service is one more example of the importance of Toronto Pearson as a hub airport, connecting people from various points of the world whether they are travelling for business or pleasure" said Pamela Griffith-Jones, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

Flights from Toronto to Frankfurt am Main are available starting from all-inclusive one-way prices of CAD 493 in Economy Class, CAD 688 in Premium Economy Class, and CAD 1143 in Comfort Class. They can be booked in any travel agency, online at www.condor.com or by phone on +1 866 960 7915 (toll-free). Onward flights to Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and many other German or European cities can easily be booked at the same time. Prices for onward flights within Germany start at CAD 117 per person and route. As well as Toronto, Condor also flies to Whitehorse, Vancouver, Halifax and Calgary in Canada.

As far as Condor is concerned, a holiday starts onboard. The flight is operated by a Boeing 767-300ER.This longhaul aircraft has a total of 270 seats, 35 of which are in Premium Economy and 18 in Comfort Class. Like the rest of Condor’s Boeing fleet, all 767-300ERs have been fitted with the newly developed aerodynamic winglets. Extending the wing in this way reduces fuel consumption and emission levels.

Providing a high level of service is important to the quality airline, which was founded in 1956. Premium Economy offers an additional 15 cm of legroom than Economy Class and there is a separate check-in for passengers, who also receive free alcoholic beverages with their Premium menus. Passengers in Comfort Class also have a separate check-in, and beyond that can look forward to a three-course menu, a selection of carefully chosen wines and a high level of seat comfort.
