New features on the 2015/16 winter timetable
New aircraft for SWISS and increased use of the Airbus A380 in Zurich: the winter timetable features additions to the route network and the fleet in use.
New routes
In the winter, SWISS will continue to serve the routes launched in the summer, offering flights to Bilbao, Toulouse, Gothenburg, Dresden, Graz and Leipzig, among other places.
Air Berlin’s new destination, Faro, will also feature on the winter flight schedule.
Multiple award-winning airline Cathay Pacific, which has been flying from Zurich since 2015, will continue to serve Hong Kong once a day during the winter timetable.
Polish airline LOT is returning to Zurich and, from January 2016, will connect Zurich with Warsaw twice a day.
New aircraft
The first quarter of 2016 will see SWISS start to renew its long-haul fleet. The new 777-300ER aircraft will be used on ultra-long routes, i.e. for connections such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Tel Aviv.
Since 1 October 2015, Emirates has been serving Zurich using only the Airbus A380 and so is now flying the super jumbo twice a day.
In the winter, Etihad Airways will again use Boeing 787 aircraft on its flights from Zurich to Abu Dhabi. The use of the Dreamliner allows passengers departing from Zurich to enjoy the brand-new "First Suite", "Business Studio" and "Economy Smart Seat" cabin products.
In total, direct flights will be available to 127 destinations in 60 countries in the winter
