Cathay Pacific A350-1000 premiere at Zurich Airport
Zurich airport starts the summer time table period with a premiere: On 31st March, 2019 Cathay Pacific operated the first A350-1000 flight to Zurich.
Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific now serves the HKG-ZRH with its new flagship, the A350-1000. On 31st March 2019, the Cathay team surprised the boarding passengers in Zurich with a souvenir present, a special edition first flight A350-1000 pin. For the following day, media representatives had been invited to a welcome ceremony. During an aircraft tour on the tarmac and in the cabin journalists could get a first-hand impression of this new aircraft. Cathay Pacific’s Country Manager Switzerland, Mr. Chris van den Hooven highlighted the new features and benefits of the aircraft in his welcome address: the spacious and quiet cabin, a new entertainment system with HD-touchscreens, improved cabin pressure resulting in higher air humidity and better fuel efficiency just to mention a few. After the official cake cutting passengers enjoyed the cake and refreshments before boarding the flight bound for Hong Kong.
Zurich airport is delighted that Cathay Pacific has chosen Zurich as one of their first A350-1000 destinations. The A350-1000 brings a capacity increase of 59 seats per flight compared to the previously operated aircraft, a highly appreciated commitment to the prosperous Swiss market.
