Porto Airport welcomes Transavia France's first Airbus A320neo
Transavia France recently operated its first commercial flight on the new Airbus A320neo (registration F-GNEO) with the Paris-Orly and Porto route. Landing at Porto Airport on 15 January at 10.10am, the A320neo will now operate around 20 routes in the company's network of 200 routes and 120 destinations in total.
The A320neo aircraft provide the best performance in their category for the network needs of the Group's airlines. Compared to previous generation aircraft, it provides a 50% reduction in noise, as well as a 15% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. It also allows for a unit cost reduction of more than 10 per cent.
The new modern cabin of Transavia's A320neo offers all the French-Dutch carrier's leisure and business customers a better experience during boarding and on board. A more comfortable seat, the integration of USB sockets and more storage space: these are some of the new features of the future cabin.
As for the latter feature, Transavia France has opted for larger vertical luggage spaces (Airbus XL Bin option), which offer 37% more storage capacity than a conventional luggage compartment. This means that 8 pieces of luggage can be stored vertically (maximum 55x35x25 cm) instead of 5 horizontally in normal compartments.
The proportion of new-generation aircraft in the Air France-KLM Group's entire fleet is expected to reach 81% by 2030, up from 21% in 2023.
