New international route to Berlin with BRA from Göteborg Landvetter

Braathens Regional Airlines (BRA) is investing in international traffic and will in late March launch a new direct route to Berlin from Göteborg Landvetter Airport. The German capital has grown immensely in popularity, and with the new direct route passengers will be offered nine weekly departures from Göteborg Landvetter.

In late March 2020, BRA will launch a new international route from Göteborg Landvetter. The destination is Berlin, which is one of Göteborg Landvetter’s most popular destinations. The direct route will be flown six days a week with climate-efficient ATR 72–600 aircraft.

International traffic at Landvetter continues to grow and the number of foreign travellers in September showed an increase of 3 percent compared to the previous year.

"We welcome the investment that BRA is making in the region by launching an international route from Göteborg Landvetter. Germany is one of our largest foreign markets and it is important for leisure and business travellers in western Sweden to reach the popular city of Berlin easily and conveniently. The new direct route will also meet the growing demand among our passengers for sustainable air travel,” says Anna Strömwall, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.

Passengers have the option of choosing carbon-offsetting, bookable bio fuel when they purchase their ticket as well as fuel-efficient turboprop aircraft. Fossil emissions are always carbon-offset for all passengers flying with BRA.

The direct route between Göteborg Landvetter and Berlin Tegel will launch on March 30, 2020 and will be operated by ATR 72–600 model aircraft with seating for 72 passengers. Flying time is estimated at 95 minutes.

For many years, Swedavia has carried out ambitious sustainability work. All ten of its airports shall have zero emissions of fossil carbon dioxide from their own operations by 2020. Swedavia also works actively to promote the industry’s transition to bio fuel and has the goal that five per cent of all fuel used to refuel aircraft at Swedish airports shall be fossil-free by 2025.
