Malta named best diving destination in the Mediterranean
The Annual Sport Diver Awards were held in Birmingham
The Maltese Islands have been crowned the third best diving destination in the world at this year's Sport Diver Awards.
Malta, Gozo and Comino were also voted the most popular diving destinations in the Mediterranean by thousands of Sport Diver readers - all three Islands offer some unique diving experiences with an abundance of reefs, caves and wrecks that make diving here some of the most interesting in the Mediterranean.
The award featured a strong list of contenders battling it out for the top three places. The Maldives came first followed by Egypt in second place.
