February record at Aalborg Airport
February 2018 became the largest February month in Aalborg Airport's history. Thus, February 2018 outran the February record of 2016, although there were 29 days that month against 28 days this year. It was the continued massive growth in foreign traffic, which secured the monthly record and a 7.6 percent overall increase in February 2018 compared to February 2017.
The winter month of February 2018 offered many ski, sun and city trips from Aalborg Airport, where international destinations have been highly popular and, consequently, secured the biggest February ever in the airport's history. The 28 days in February 2018 thus exceeded the passenger numbers of February 2016, with 29 days in the month - being the largest February at Aalborg Airport. In February 2018, 114,495 passengers traveled to and from the airport against 106,408 in February 2017 - an increase of 7.6 percent.
International traffic in continued growth
In February 2018 there was a strong growth in foreign traffic of 72.6 per cent - corresponding to 38,875 foreign passengers in February 2018 against 22,517 in February 2017.

A busy Easter ahead
Easter falls early in 2018, which means that many are traveling in the Easter holidays in late March, where a part of the summer program also starts this year. It will be possible to celebrate Easter in Barcelona, the sunny Turkey and the holiday island of Bornholm. In addition, Norwegian increases the number of weekly departures to Malaga from three to five weekly.

A decline in charter and domestic traffic
There was a decline in domestic traffic of 6.1 percent in February 2018. Thus, 63,560 traveled in February 2018 against 67,693 in the same month last year. In addition, in February 2018 there were 12,060 charter guests who traveled to and from Aalborg against 16,198 passengers in January 2017. This gives a total decline in charter traffic of 25.5 percent.
