Non-stop Route from Aalborg to Gran Canaria with airBaltic
airBaltic today unveiled a new seasonal base on Gran Canaria, where they from December 2023 will fly directly non-stop between Aalborg and Gran Canaria twice a week. The winter program is therefore being extended once again from Aalborg Airport.
Aalborg Airport has already this year announced the new non-stop route to Tenerife with Norwegian and the charter news La Palma with Bravo Tours. The direct route to Gran Canaria with airBaltic therefore completes the travel opportunities to the popular Canary Islands.
- The Canary Islands and especially Gran Canaria are undoubtedly one of the Danes' favorite destinations when the cold Danish winter months have to be replaced by sun, beach and warmth. The direct route – with as many as two weekly departures to Gran Canaria with airBaltic – is therefore great news, where Danish travelers will have the opportunity for an extended weekend or a longer stay on the lovely holiday island, says CEO Niels Hemmingsen.
airBaltic's Airbus A220-300 flies directly non-stop on Thursdays and Sundays between Aalborg and Cran Canaria from December 2023 to April 2024.
- When preparing for the upcoming season, we always carefully analyze the market dynamics. For winter months, when the overall passenger demand worldwide is traditionally lower, we have identified an opportunity to optimize our capacity to be as efficient as possible – by establishing a seasonal base and operating two aircraft from Las Palmas to serve the demand for sunny and leisure destinations. Such expanded presence in Gran Canaria not only enhances connectivity, but also provides passengers with a wide range of convenient travel options, says Martin Gauss, President and CEO airBaltic.
