New retail offering at Aberdeen International Airport set for April opening, with further developments still to come
Aberdeen International Airport’s terminal transformation project is nearing completion as two stores due to open next month, with more to come in the autumn.
The upgraded departure lounge area will feature new Boots and Dixons Travel stores, relocating from their current units to a new retail and catering area, housed in the former World Duty Free and Security facility.
Both stores are considerably larger and will feature brands previously unseen at both airport stores. Dixons Travel will open its doors on Monday 8 April, with Boots following on Wednesday 10 April.
The entire transformation project is earmarked for completion in autumn this year, with a complete refurbishment and expansion of The Globe as well as the inclusion of a new airside Joes Café. A third retail store will also open in the area adjacent to The Distilling House.
Steve Szalay, Managing Director Aberdeen International Airport said: “We’re gearing up for the new stores opening up next month and can’t wait for our passengers to see the fantastic Boots and Dixons Travel shops.
“But the developments don’t end here. In the autumn, we’ll be ready to showcase our completed terminal. Our catering offering will be significantly improved, with more choice for our passengers than ever before.
“It’s truly an exciting time for Aberdeen International Airport and we look forward to welcoming all to the fabulous new space.”
