Historic Winter Season at Bratislava Airport – First Dreamliner Flights, Business Class Flights, and 12 Exotic Destinations

Starting on October 27, 2024, M. R. Štefánik Airport in Bratislava will introduce several exciting updates in its winter flight schedule. For the first time, direct flights will operate from Bratislava using the Dreamliner, a plane with a capacity of 355 passengers. This also marks the first-ever business class service from the airport, offering flat beds on direct flights to exotic destinations. Additionally, passengers will now be able to purchase individual tickets to destinations like the Dominican Republic, Vietnam, and Cuba. The schedule also includes a new aircraft with greater passenger capacity for flights to Istanbul.

“During the winter season, 5 airlines will operate regular flights to 19 destinations from Bratislava Airport. Through travel agencies, it will be possible to fly charter flights directly to 12 exotic locations in 11 countries,” summarized Dušan Novota, the CEO of M. R. Štefánik Airport.

Among the regular routes, Air Cairo will fly once a week from Bratislava to Egypt, to the resorts of Hurghada and Marsa Alam. The Czech airline Smartwings will offer direct flights from Bratislava twice a week to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Wizz Air will fly to London-Luton and Skopje in North Macedonia, while Turkish Pegasus Airlines will continue regular flights to Istanbul. The highest number of regular flights, a total of 13, will be operated from M. R. Štefánik Airport by Ryanair.

NEW AIRCRAFT TYPE TO FLY TO ISTANBUL WITH LARGER PASSENGER CAPACITY

Starting at the end of October, Pegasus Airlines will deploy a larger aircraft, the Airbus A321neo with a capacity of 239 passengers, on its flights to Istanbul every Wednesday. It will fly to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport three times a week, with flights on Fridays and Sundays operated by the Airbus A320, with a capacity of 186 passengers. In Istanbul, passengers can also transfer to other destinations in the Middle East, such as Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and others, or take advantage of additional domestic flights within Turkey.

FIRST EVER DREAMLINER FLIGHTS WITH A CAPACITY OF 355 PASSENGERS

Historic moments await Bratislava Airport on October 30 with the launch of charter flights using a Boeing 787-9, known as the Dreamliner. This aircraft, classified as category E, has 355 seats and offers three different classes – economy, premium, and business light. Up till now, such charter flights with vacationers have never flown from M. R. Štefánik Airport! Passengers who book flights from Bratislava to Mauritius or the Thai island of Phuket through the Čedok travel agency can experience it. Čedok will also continue to offer flights to and from Zanzibar, operated by Smartwings with the Boeing 737max.

FIRST TIME EVER BUSINESS CLASS WITH FLAT BED

On October 23, 2024, the first vacationers will fly from Bratislava to the Dominican Republic, specifically to Punta Cana airport. Following last year’s success, the DER Touristik group, which includes the travel agencies Kartágo and Fischer, continues this year’s winter season with its offering of flights to exotic destinations departing from Bratislava Airport. Passengers will be flown by the airline World2Fly on their Airbus A330, which has 255 seats in economy class and 30 seats in a separate business class, including fully reclining flatbed seats. This year, DER Touristik is again offering flights to Cuba (Holguín) and Vietnam, to the island of Phu Quoc. Flights to Vietnam start from October 27, and vacationers can enjoy Cuba during the Christmas period or afterward, with flights beginning from December 17, 2024. Moreover, flights to the Dominican Republic, Vietnam, and Cuba are all without stopover!

PURCHASE OF INDIVIDUAL TICKETS TO CUBA, VIETNAM, AND PUNTA CANA

In addition to package vacations, DER Touristik is introducing a new option this year – the possibility to purchase individual tickets in economy or business class for flights to the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Vietnam. Business class offers travelers priority check-in, additional baggage, free access to the Mastercard Caproni Lounge at Bratislava Airport, premium meals and drinks on board, lie-flat reclining seats, a private steward, a pillow, blanket, and a comfort kit for maximum convenience, as well as separated seats with ample space. Individual round-trip tickets from Bratislava to exotic destinations can be purchased at travel agency branches starting from €1,069, with an additional charge for business class starting at €349 for a one-way flight.
