Bratislava Airport recorded 85,939 handled passengers on arrivals and departures in January. This represents a 12% increase compared to January last year, when 77,000 passengers were processed.
“We are pleased that the year 2025 started with passenger growth at Bratislava Airport. We have achieved the highest January passenger numbers since the beginning of the pandemic, meaning in the last five years,” said Dušan Novota, CEO and Chairman of the Board of M. R. Štefánik Airport.
“The growth in the number of passengers handled at the airport in January was mainly driven by the new scheduled route to Istanbul, operated by Pegasus Airlines, which was not available last January. Additionally, charter flights from travel agencies to the Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Egypt’s Hurghada, and other exotic destinations contributed to the increase. Compared to January last year, there was also a rise in the number of flights to Manchester and Rome,” the CEO added.
Among regular flights, the most passengers traveled on routes from Bratislava to London, Manchester, Rome-Ciampino, Thessaloniki, and Skopje.
In total, 1,482 flights were operated at BTS Airport in January.
