FASHION SHOW CELEBRATES RETAIL EXPANSION AT EDINBURGH AIRPORT
Edinburgh Airport has celebrated 18 months of airside retail expansion with a fashion show at the No. 1 Lounge
The refurbishment of 21 Individual retail units since July 2015 commenced with the walk-through World Duty Free store opening in summer 2015 and completed with the opening of the Traveller store in December 2016.
New brands on display include: Max Mara, Brora, Michael Kors, The Watch Collection, JD Sport, Superdrug, Fat Face, Next, Rolling Luggage, Flutes & Tails, All Bar One, Krispy Kreme, Scottish Fine Gifts, Tartan Weaving Mill & Traveller.
Richard Townsend, Retail and Property Director at Edinburgh Airport, said:
“It is not so long ago that we were just another airport retail offering - we had limited fashion brands and some out of date shopping concepts.
“In the past 18 months we have grown our retail offering so it now competes with any high street and is the envy of many other growing airports.
“This is by no means the end of our journey; it is the start of the next great stage and there are more exciting developments to come.”
Gordon Dewar, Edinburgh Airport’s Chief Executive, added:
“We plan to continue growing the airport to enable more direct international connections from Scotland – and also to further expand our retail space which will enable us to attract even more great brands and fashion retailers.
“We owe it to the great city of Edinburgh and to all of our passengers to build an airport that all of Scotland can be proud of and competes on the global stage.
“As Scotland’s Airport of Provence with unlimited international ambitions it is great that the models showcase both local and global brands.”
