MAY PASSENGER FIGURES SHOW CONTINUED INTERNATIONAL GROWTH
Edinburgh Airport has today welcomed the latest passenger figures showing that May 2017 saw 1,231,712 passengers passing through the airport. This represents a 10.8% increase on May 2016.
May 2017 was the third busiest month on record only behind July 2016 with 1,332,142 passengers and August 2016 with 1,296,087 passengers.
The biggest increase was in International passenger numbers; up from 662,565 last year to 766,094 this year – which represents a leap of 15.6% compared to the same month last year.
Gordon Dewar, Edinburgh Airport’s Chief Executive, said: “This is the busiest May on record and shows that our passengers are responding to greater choice at Edinburgh Airport.
“We continue to work with our airline partners to offer the destinations our passengers’ want, and in May launched Pula, Rhodes and Malaga with Thomson, and Jet2.com launched Thessaloniki.”
