Helsinki all year round
Scotland’s only route to Finland will now operate the whole year round following an extension to the Edinburgh Helsinki service.
Finnair’s direct flight between the two capitals will extend to year round from 25th March with up to nine weekly flights in the summer season and up to three in winter.
It follows the announcement of two new routes from Edinburgh to Seville and Jersey in a positive start to 2018 for Scotland’s busiest airport.
Chief Executive Gordon Dewar said:
“We’re delighted that Finnair has extended this popular service between Edinburgh and Helsinki, offering passengers yet another destination choice the whole year round.
“Helsinki offers culture, architecture and design, but it also acts as a fantastic connection hub, opening up destinations in other countries such Russia, China and Japan. And that hub will clearly appeal to people from Scotland wishing to go see more of the world, and people from those parts of the world that want to come and discover Edinburgh and Scotland.”
