Edinburgh to Tel Aviv Will Take Off In June

Israeli carrier Israir Airlines has announced that it will operate a direct route between Edinburgh Airport and Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv this summer, starting from the 13th of June.

The route will fly every Wednesday until the 3rd of October, and will depart Edinburgh at 20:20 and arrive into Tel Aviv at 03:35. The flight from Tel Aviv will depart at 15:20 and arrive into Edinburgh at 19:20.

This flight is the first direct flight from Scotland to Israel, and plays a role in strengthening connectivity and tourism links for Scotland and the world. As tourism in Israel is at a record high, this is a great opportunity for Scottish travellers to explore what the country has to offer such as such as beaches of Tel Aviv and UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Jerusalem, Nazareth and Bethlehem, amongst others. Israel is also home to the Dead Sea, which is the deepest hypersaline lake in the world and it lies more than 400m below sea level.

As Edinburgh is the 2nd most visited destination in the UK after London and is referred to as the gateway to Scotland, Israeli passengers can now visit Scotland’s most popular tourist city. Thanks to Edinburgh Airport’s strong transport links to both Edinburgh and beyond via tram, bus and rail, passengers will have easy access to the delights of Scotland from the airport, whether it’s visiting the city, sampling whisky or heading to St. Andrews, The Home of Golf. Or, visitors can hire a car and visit The Highlands, The Scottish Islands and the famous Loch Ness ‘Monster’.
