First Direct Flight From Scotland to Israel Touches Down in Tel Aviv
At 03:35am this morning, the first nonstop flight from Edinburgh to Tel Aviv landed safely on the runway.
The Boeing 737-800 operated by Israir Airlines departed Edinburgh at 20:20, and arrived at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel approximately five hours later.
The inaugural nonstop flight has been the source of much anticipation. Scottish Conservative MP John Lamont stated that he ‘warmly welcomes Israir’s flight from Scotland to Israel’. Lamont revealed that the Scottish Conservatives ‘have been pushing for this since a political visit to Israel two years ago’ and he believes that it will ‘strengthen the ties between our two great countries.’ In conjunction with Edinburgh Airport’s new direct flight to Beijing, the Tel Aviv flight will grow Scotland’s connectivity and tourism sector.
Thanks to the increased accessibility that the direct flight provides, Scottish tourists can now experience the wonders of Tel Aviv faster than ever before. Passengers can look forward to exploring Tel Aviv’s white sand beaches, buzzing nightclubs, and historic sites located just outside the city.
Nonstop flights between Edinburgh Airport and Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv are scheduled to run once a week on Wednesday between June 13th and October 3rd 2018. The flight will depart Edinburgh Airport at 20:20 and arrive into Tel Aviv at 03:35. Book your direct flight now from £105.*
