Boost in Passsenger numbers at Sabiha Gokcen

Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen stands against all the crisis effects with the growing rate in the recent months. When ISG acquired the operational rights of Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Int'l Airport in May 2008, the passenger number was just above of 3 million. At the end of the first year, Sabiha Gokcen has already hosted 4.3 million passengers. The new terminal with 25-million annual capacity has been completed just in 18-month-record time last October, put into service and at the end of the year, Sabiha Gokcen announced 53% passenger increase up to 6.65 million. The first quarter figures are recently announced and it's obvious that we will see another record with a possible increase of more than 90%. According to the first quarter figures, 2.201.573 guests are hosted in the new terminal comparing to 1.120.726 passengers in the first quarter of 2009.
