Lodz Airport: Santa landed in Lodz
On Tuesday (Dec, 5th), in the cold and sunny weather on the airport apron, children awaited him.
"Always, I begin my holiday journey from Łódź, the best city that becomes more beautiful day by day, and from the airport that has more and more connections," said Santa Claus after landing in Łódź.
This is already the 7th edition of the charitable campaign "Santa's Landing."
For the first time, Santa arrived in Łódź by Ryanair plane. Santa landed in Łódź after 11 am. He descended the plane's stairs with a bag full of sweets, while the Ground Handling Department employees unloaded presents from the cargo hold. First, however, formalities had to be completed. The Border Guard checked Santa's passport, stamped it, and only then could the guest greet the youngest ones.
Santa: "The magical, joyful time when Santa gives presents to children and everyone exchanges the best wishes is approaching. As every year, I came to you because I heard that the nicest and kindest children in the world live in Łódź. I had to visit you first and give you the presents you asked for. I always start my holiday raid from Łódź, the best city that becomes more beautiful day by day, and from the airport that has more and more connections. Congratulations to the President of Łódź Airport. It's nice to see that you have more and more interesting destinations, such as Malaga, Alicante, or Milan, and that you have more and more passengers. I'm also glad that the connection to London, by which I arrived today, is daily - it will make traveling around Europe much easier for me. You write to me in letters asking for even more new connections from Łódź. And Santa, as Santa does, fulfills all dreams," said the mysterious guest from the far North.
On behalf of the airport, he was welcomed by Anna Midera, the President of Łódź Airport: "Welcome to Łódź, Santa! You are very needed here to fulfill our wishes. It's good to know that somewhere in the far North, you read our letters, observe us, and cheer us on. Thank you for meeting us for the seventh time at the Łódź airport during the "Santa's Landing" charity event," said Anna Midera. - "Thank you also to all the partners of the campaign, wonderful donors. This year, Santa's assistants are as many as 24 companies, to whom we bow low. During the campaign, we try to prepare individual gifts that children have asked for. In the packages, there are, for example, riding boots, makeup cosmetics for teenagers, doll strollers, and even a fuel card donated by airport firefighters for the hospice. May this holiday season bring a smile to the faces of all children. May the magic of Christmas bring peace, tranquility, and love to everyone."
Then everyone entered the Arrivals Hall, where presents were spinning on the baggage carousel. Each child received a specially prepared gift, which they had previously ordered from the airport's Snowflakes.
After the meeting at the airport, Santa's procession led by the "Follow me" car, which normally shows the way to taxiing planes, drove through Łódź and visited the children and youth who, for various reasons, could not come to the airport but were eagerly awaiting a meeting with Santa. They visited, among others, children's homes on Nawrot, Zbocze, Lniana streets, as well as the Łupkowa Children's Hospice and the Dom w Łodzi Foundation.
