Lodz Airport's Passenger Boom: Soaring Past Regional Competitors!
In the first half of the year, the airport handled nearly 200,000 passengers, once again surpassing the airports in Lublin, Bydgoszcz, and – probably – Szczecin.
🔹️ From January to June, 195,316 passengers traveled through the airport. This is 27% more than in the same period last year.
🔹️ In the first half of the year, regional airports in Poznań (+28%), Łódź (+27%), and Wrocław (+19%) recorded the highest percentage growths in Poland. Other airports saw increases ranging from 2% to 17%. However, two airports experienced significant declines: Olsztyn (-37%) and Modlin (-16%).
🔹️ After the first half of the year, Łódź Airport outperformed the airports in Lublin (178,563 passengers), Bydgoszcz (170,405), and Olsztyn (40,214). It’s likely that Łódź also ranks ahead of Szczecin-Goleniów Airport, although this is uncertain as the airport in West Pomerania has not yet published data for April, May, and June. Based on the offerings and results from the first quarter of this year, it can be assumed that Łódź ranks ahead of Szczecin.
🔹️ From Łódź Airport, you can fly year-round with scheduled flights to Alicante, Brussels, Dublin, London, Milan, and Málaga. Until the end of October, there are also flights to East Midlands, which will later be replaced by to Birmingham.
🔹️ Until mid-October, summer charter flights organized by travel agencies are available, offering trips to Turkey (Antalya, Bodrum), Bulgaria, Tunisia, and Greece (Crete, Rhodes, Zakynthos).
