Leipzig/Halle Airport launches the 2012 summer season with new destinations and extended offers

New for Summer 2012: non-stop to Istanbul, Milan, Faro and Malaga and daily service to London More flights to tourist destinations Special flights to North Cape and Silk Road

Turkish Airlines will offer direct flights to Istanbul this summer, meaning that there will be a scheduled service from Leipzig/Halle to the Turkish metropolis on the shore of the Bosporus for the first time ever.
Favourable transfer connections are available via Turkish Airlines' Istanbul hub.

Beginning with the summer timetable, Ryanair will add a fifth destination to its network of routes from Leipzig/Halle Airport - Milan (Bergamo). The economic and fashion hub in Northern Italy will be served three times a week. There will also be three weekly direct flights to Rome (Ciampino) this summer.
Ryanair will also take off on flights to two new sunshine destinations, Faro and Malaga, which will both be served twice a week.
The airline's service to London (Stansted), which was launched in autumn 2011, will be extended to include two additional flights. The number of flights will increase from five to seven, enabling daily connections between the Central German region and the UK capital's Stansted Airport.
With the launch of the new services, Ryanair will expand its activities at Leipzig/Halle Airport by increasing the number of flights from eight to seventeen a week.

2012 Summer Timetable
The summer timetable, valid from 25 March to 27 October 2012, will be featuring 51 destinations in 15 countries, being served by 21 airlines.
Connections to European, Middle East, Mediterranean, Black Sea, Red Sea and Atlantic Ocean destinations will be available.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, the number of weekly flights to holiday destinations will increase by up to 10 percent in summer 2012. The summer timetable will feature a total of 40 sunshine destinations, including popular holiday regions in countries such as Turkey, Spain, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, Portugal, Croatia, Egypt and Tunisia.

Top of the list of holiday destinations will be, once again, Antalya, which will be served up to 26 times a week, followed by Palma de Mallorca with up to 24 weekly flights. Hurghada and Burgas will both be served seven times a week.
