New Runway at Muscat International Airport

The new runway at Muscat International Airport was officially opened on Sunday December the 14th 2014. National carrier Oman Air- aircraft A330 was the first plane to land at the new runway; accompanied by special guests as passengers on board. The new northern 4000 m long and 60 m wide new runway will be functional for 24 hours at the beginning of January 2015. The inaugural ceremony of Phase 1 at Muscat International Airport went very smoothly, in addition to the successful completion of the new civil aviation building and air traffic control tower.
