Oman Airports Welcomes new airline “Kish Airways” to Muscat International Airport
Oman Airports’ warmly welcomes new Airline “Kish Airlines “now operating at Muscat International Airport, offering one direct weekly services between Kish Islands and Muscat/Muscat to Kish Islands using a Fokker 100 aircraft.
The first flight was operated on Saturday the 31st of October, 2015 at 6:00 PM- (Muscat time); making it Oman Airports’ 62nd destination worldwide reaching up to 30 countries. Oman Airports celebrated the first landing of Kish Airlines at Muscat International Airport; celebrating this historical day with route development representative from the commercial department at OAMC, along with Kish Airline representatives.
Kish Airlines operates from Kish Island, Iran and operates international, domestic and charter services as a scheduled carrier. Its main base is Mehrabad International Airport, Tehran. The Airline Company has three Fokker 100s, five Mcdonnel Douglas MD-82s, and four mcdonnel Douglas MD-83s. Kish Airlines does operate to several destinations to which includes Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and now the Sultanate of Oman- Muscat. Kish Airlines and Oman Airports are jointly looking forward to working closely together and make this new partnership a growing success.
Oman Airports Management Company have witnessed an encouraging success rate in terms of passenger numbers in comparison to 2014. The active passenger traffic at Muscat International Airport throughout the period from January to October, 2015, recorded total growth of 7,602,169 passengers, in comparison to 2014, which had an overall increase of 6,605,147 recording 15% over the same period last year. The Airline Marketing team at the commercial department at Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) are working closely with airlines and local aviation stakeholders to guarantee additional frequencies, new destinations and an outstanding customer experience to all travelers travelling to the Sultanate of Oman.
