Foreign Companies in Skåne

Even the number of employees in foreign own companies has increased, and the growth started already in the mid 90’s. The number of foreign owned companies has grown by 131% during the last 10 years. During the same time period, the number of employed in a foreign owned business has increased by 116%.

At the end of 2009 more than 30 000 people were employed in 1 400 foreign owned companies in Malmö. Close to 490 of these has more than 10 employees and about 64 has more than a 100 employees at the moment.  Our closest neighboring countries has the largest business ownership in Malmö – Denmark (21%), Norway (12%), UK (12%) and Germany (10%).
