Trade between Sweden and Denmark
Öresundsbron publishes an article in their brochure Fokus Öresund (no. 5) about Swedish and Danish trade and how they work together – below you’ll find an outline.
This article tells us that the strained economic situation in Denmark has caused an unusually large number of business to file for bankruptcy. Averages of more than 550 companies are going out of business every month and it is expected that even more are meeting the same fate. It is also mentioned that less Danish companies are getting loans from the banks.
In the neighboring country Sweden, the economy is growing three times faster than in Denmark, the Swedish crown is getting remarkably stronger, private consumption is raising and companies such as Volvo, Electrolux, ABB, Scania, SKF experience growth after a short time of down fall.
The growing economy in Sweden is though not all that bad for Denmark, many Danish companies are already today exporting goods to Sweden but there is room and need for much more. The list over B2B goods is long and includes to a large extent building and construction materials since Sweden has planned to build thousands of new homes and invest millions of SEK in infrastructural projects the next coming years. Danish ecological provisions, made to go meals, beers, fashion and design items are highly demanded products as the private consumption grows.
