NUE's event series #tasteofNUE a great success
Airport Nuremberg's team developed a concept in spring 2022 to promote Nuremberg as an attractive incoming destination abroad.
Together with the Nuremberg Congress and Tourism Centre, NUE established a creative and innovative B2B event series.
In Dublin, Krakow, Valencia, Venice, and Tallinn, cross-divisional teams from Aviation Sales, Marketing, and the Press Office promoted the highlights of our region.
Silvia Arai Hoffmann, in charge of incoming marketing, explains the idea: "Our goal was to raise awareness of the new flight connections, as well as of our region as an attractive travel destination in the respective new foreign markets by utilizing traditional regional products such as Franconian beer. Following the pandemic, we wanted to break new ground in addressing journalists, bloggers, and influencers around the world and persuade them of the importance of Nuremberg."
Almost all events were accompanied by an actor dressed in the costume of Nuremberg Airport's namesake, Albrecht Dürer, as a testimonial with recognition value for Nuremberg and a Franconian brewmaster.
The activities were supported by the airports and tourism offices of the destinations. The events were followed by two-way press and blogger trips (over 30 influencers) and numerous promotional campaigns such as B2C and B2B newsletter ads, social media posts, contests, print articles, etc.
Take a look at an example from Dublin, where a local radio station had a part of their show dedicated to Nuremberg:
Dublin: Radio Sunshine Travel Talk
As a result of the event's success, the series was resumed in 2023 on February 23 with a partnership between Sevilla City Office, Nürnberg TB, Franconia TB, Brewery Maisel's, and SVQ Airport.
Further events are scheduled in the second quarter of the year in Barcelona and London.
For the second part of the year, NUE is still looking for new destinations to promote the world-famous Christkindlesmarkt.
